Amir 4.9 Release Notes — last 4.X
3 min readApr 4, 2025
Despite the popularity of the Amir 4.0 through 4.8 releases, we are sunsetting the 4.X series with this last edition of 4.9. Although 4.x had an initially wild and sometimes bumpy ride, we are happy that the last few versions are quite stable. Conditions apply, crashes and bugs may still occur.
We hope you enjoy this new version, here are our release notes:
- Amir 4.9 Investor Edition works great in Darkmode (already in version II). We are happy with the result and are now working on a new fork called Darkmode III.
- Despite many known bugs, the Author Pro yielded solid results and we are on track to publish a trilogy of fantasy books this year. Early testers have given us great feedback.
- We have added a training model. Our leadership is insistent that every competitor has it and it will make our investors happy. 🤷🏼♂️
- Compatibility with Deby 4.8 has never been better, and we are happy to celebrate 25 years of these versions working together. This year we ran these two versions through a 25 km bike ride and they still stayed together with no significant crashes.
Noteworthy
- This version is still torn about what is happening in Israel 🇮🇱
- Our new product line update: Daniel 2.0 (🤯) is running well on the University environment for 3 years now, we miss him, but he is happy and in a good relationship. Jonny 1.7 has also found his companion mode, and Deby 4.8 is happy and stable!
- Mocha Dog 7.0 has calmed down and Shoko Cat 14.0 is showing signs of wear and tear and stays most of the time on Sofa OS.
Known Issues
- This version probably requires a Glasses patch, but we are using denial to work through this.
- We heard that 4.X is not responsive in Emails/Text/WhatsApp/Calls. We have classified this as “will not fix”.
- Amir 5.X roadmap is still TBD, we still do not have a clear plan for a mature product.
This version is still a work in progress — basically it is still broken.
