Amir 4.8 Release Notes — the Stable Edition
3 min readApr 4, 2024
Following the popular release of Amir 4.0, 4.1 , 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, and 4.7, we are excited to announce the release of Amir 4.8. This version is the first Stable Edition we had in years. We worked very hard, and it might still crash from time to time, but we are cautiously excited.
We hope you enjoy this new version, here are our release notes:
- We managed to stabilize a lot of the quirks and bugs we had the last several years. Removing major corporate/enterprise capabilities did most of the trick, that part of the product was legacy and had to go.
- Amir 4.8 Investor Pro capabilities have been launched this year under the Darkmode brand, we are getting initial good feedback from early design customers.
- Despite many known bugs, the Author Pro model is working well, and finished the first two books in the planned trilogy — you can checkout the early access here. (Note this is done with Zero Generative AI)
- We are seeing consistent improvement in weight management, and physical activities. We have recently started to stress test the Bike module at a marathon distance.
- Another reason for the stability is operating the SUP functionality 3–4 times a week. Who would have thought that relaxation can contribute to stability 🤷🏼♂️
Noteworthy
- This version was deeply impacted by events in its home base. A big part of its core is still in🇮🇱
- Our new product line update: Daniel 1.9 is running on the University environment for two years now, we miss him, but he is happy. Jonny 1.6 has upgraded to Driver edition, Deby 4.7 is running better then ever!
- Mocha Dog 6.0 and Shoko Cat 13.0 are closer than ever, at least when it comes to onboarding the Sofa OS.
Known Issues
- This version still does not require the Glasses patch, but we think we are getting closer to that time.
- We heard that 4.X is not responsive in Emails/Text/WhatsApp/Calls. We have classified this as “will not fix”.
- Our roadmap is still TBD, we still do not have a clear plan for a mature product.
This version is still a work in progress — basically it is still broken.
